Both publications explicate the power dynamics, cultural conflicts, and psychological effects linked to colonial domination.

Through the narrative of Charles Marlow’s travels in Heart of Dark- ness, Conrad reveals the brutality, exploitation, and ethical decline that frequently accompany colonial ventures. Dangarembga’s novel Nervous Conditions investigates the context of postwar Zimbabwe, through the lens of Tambudzai’s experiences. The book offers insights into the intricate relationships between gender, race, and class that arise against the backdrop of colonialism. Both works encourage readers to contemplate matters of authority, involvement, and opposition. The goal of this study is to uncover the nuanced themes and narrative strategies used by the authors to explore the topic of colonialism and thereby shed light on the intricate interplay of power, identity, and resistance within a colonial setting. It emphasizes the enduring impact of colonialism on both individuals and society, using a comparative approach to enhance our awareness of the intricacies of colonial inheritances and the significance of literature in addressing them.
2025-02-06T00:00:00+01:00Copyright (c) 2025 Najlaa Hosny Ameen Mohammed
